A government supermarket would cost many, many billions of dollars of taxpayer money, which NYC CANNOT AFFORD! Like in Russia and Cuba, the shelves would be empty because when people get free items, the shelves will never be filled like we have now. Just imagine – workers must be paid, items to sell must be bought, etc. Taxpayers would foot the bill for EVERYTHING! INSANE! WOULD NEVER, EVER WORK!!
