They battled for a Union, thinking a Union can save and improve their job environment and the money paid to them …without ever thinking about the cost / benefit ratio of the price of a cup of Coffee! The public allowed SB to bang them for a cup of coffee and were willing to pay the high price of their coffee…for some reason? Perhaps the thought buying $8.00 coffee would allow them a feeling of “belonging”, perhaps the customer thought the quality of the coffee was worth the price. But in the long term, the customer has spoken…and none of that was worth $8.00 per cup. Toss in the liberal snobbery and the arrogant manner in which they delivered their product…and the writing was on the wall. The employee arrogance was so bad that it turned off millions of willing customers, and they destroyed themselves through their idiocy and arrogance. Any company that goes through 6 quarters of negative sales has to look at the root cause of the loss of sales…and at the same time…battle for profitability in stores that are trying to maintain year-over-year sales. When the people learn to hate your facility, you are done. If they think it’s bad now…give it a year. I’m betting SB is filing for bankruptcy sometime in late 2026 or early 2027…as they can’t reverse the emotional reaction to the snobbish behavior of the staff. If SB was providing some tangible product…a washing machine, a refridgerator, an automobile….perhaps customers would stay loyal to the product and support the company. But coffee? Dutch Brothers Coffee is filling the consumer space…and SB is dead in the water. I’d learn how to weld! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Cuckoo Kathy Hochul raised the minimum wage in NYS on Jan 1. The price of groceries went up about a week later. (Then she blames it on President Trump). Fast food like Mickey D’s isn’t worth the high price. You order from a kiosk, not a real person. Higher minimum wage = fewer jobs.
