Aaron Bushnell grew up in a religious family and actively gave to charity, but that wouldn’t fit with demonising him so I notice it’s not mentioned. I read he had received a letter in November telling him to be ready for deployment to Israel. He wasn’t just committing suicide, if that was his goal he could have done it privately and far less painfully. He chose to protest a holocaust on women and children. I really can’t comprehend that level of courage and conviction to be honest. It’s humbling.
Btw, as a Muslim, we cannot condone suicide. It is against our religion. I wish we could have stopped him from taking his own life. The world is a better place with people like Aaron in it. Heartbreaking.
