I spent some time in the Intel community (DIA, not CIA, NSA, etc.). Knowing how it worked, I was shocked to learn that, even after he ‘officially” left the CIA, Brennan not only retained his clearance but continued to be read in on the intel – Top Secret/Code Worded stuff. I actually got into a heated argument with a couple (self-described) current CIA staffers who not only thought that was okay, but who vehemently defended it. Unbelievable. Nowhere, ever, was that ‘okay”. If it wasn’t your job, if you did not have a genuine “need to know”, you not only were not entitled to this information, but you wouldn’t even know that there might be such information, but here you had this guy with NO position in the intel or nat’l security communities receiving information which would have gotten me cashiered and likely even imprisoned if I’d accessed it – and these two intel functionaries were perfectly happy with that situation, defending it vehemently. I cannot imagine better proof of the existence of a “Deep State” within – and acting against the interests of – the legitimate government. Brennan and everyone who cooperated with him should be under indictment and sequestered at Gitmo while the extent of their treason is determined.
