Who can blame those folks who can leave for leaving? Nobody wants to hand over everything they’ve worked hard to have to a communist government. Same thing is happening to NY too, from what I’ve read. I find it stupid that people actually vote for people like this one or the one in NY, especially anybody who knows the taste of freedom. Communism has never worked, and won’t now, but it will make a lot of folks miserable and poorer.

Lived in Island County in late 70’s and liked it a lot. Planned to move back there when we retired, but by that time it deteriorated to a much less desirable location to buy property in. Now we live in rural area of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. In comparison to Washington, Oregon, The Peoples Socialist Republik of Kalifornia or The Islamic Republic of New Yawk it truly is “Almost Heaven”. Think we’re going to just stay put and enjoy life in a much more relaxed and friendly environment that allows folks to praise God, carry our guns openly and not be required to deal with idiot liberals and lesser intelligent demoncrats.
After many years of looking at maps and markets for affordability, natural beauty, location, 4 mild seasons, low taxes, availability of good services, well-maintained interstates in every direction plus Amtrak, plus 3 international airports within 90 min., peace & quiet, surrounded by historic touchstones, the Panhandle of West-by-God-Virginia has long had my retirement vote, too. I’m not there yet but have plans.

The sad reality is that democracy plus human nature results in all the worst instincts in people being elevated to positions of power. All the great democracies throughout history have eventually failed. Why?
Because people invariably vote their self interest. The US will likely fail too at some point and the irony is that the only way to preserve what we’ve got is to abandon the best aspect of what we’ve got, self governance. I’d would wager that America’s futue would be more assured under Dictator Trump than democratically elected Mamdani.
Just one more example of many of why socialism has always failed and always will fail. This socialist chose to believe her own rhetoric over reality at the expense of the remaining taxpayers. The remaining democrat voter taxpayers are entirely to blame for this debacle. Every logical thinker warned this was coming. Here it is. Socialism is bad for America, particularly our kids and grandkids.
Just one more city LOST to the after effect of ill-informed, ill-educated, STUPID, people voting these radically incompetent, Communism loving, people into positions of power over them! For those with just a modicum of common sense remaining, their only option is to FLEE the state!

Anyone remember the USSR? One would have thought people would have learned the lesson of August 20, 1991. How about China and Dong’s speech in Shenzhen April 2, 1992? One would have thought with these examples of socialism/communism and the disastrous results of Kshana Sawant during her time on the Seattle City Council, the people of Seattle would have realized that there is truth in: ‘The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result’, and not elected another communist. In Seattle, the inmates are running of the asylum. Then again, it was Joe Stalin that said, ‘it’s not the people that vote, it is the people that count the votes that are important.’
Former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher summed it up perfectly — ‘The problem with Socialism is that, sooner or later, you run out of other people’s money’. Most of the people who vote for these Socialists are losers. They have no life, no job, no money, no homes to protect and no future. Since they don’t own anything, they have no stake in making things better. They want to live off of other people’s hard work.

Mayor Olive Oil had not real life experience – I mean you don’t get that when you live for free in your parents’ basement and never had to get a real job (being an activist) is not a job.
When I lived in Seattle, it was the most beautiful place and my favorite city in the USA – I have lived in 12 states and traveled all over the country.
I experienced the Dems getting stupider, more radical, and more greedy for power, so I left years ago. It was so hard to leave the life I built, but when I watch these videos about this female child ruining Seattle I know I did the right thing.
It’s getting harder to find a place to live where they don’t tax your last dollar, and where they welcomed in the dregs of the world to come in and steal from us while sending that stolen money to Somalia. I worked hard all my life to get a decent retirement, and now the government has stolen some of it and has their eye on the rest of it. I never planned on leaving Massachusetts when I retired, but the thieves are bleeding be dry. We used to have a good life in New York but were transferred to Massachusetts. Lately we counted our blessings for escaping from New York, but now we are in the same leaky boat.
That Seattle Mayor is finally getting back at the people of that city who apparently never paid any attention to the ugly child who wasn’t invited into the social networks that put on parties, proms, and get-togethers. Maybe they will find out that ugly girls deserve to be liked. They sometimes revert to being bitter old communists with mental problems. Just be thankful she didn’t get ahold of an AR15 or some explosives.
