When I was in high school, are part of a student group we got a special visa to travel into communist controlled Eastern Europe.
Despite being typical teens, we all were forever changed by what we witnessed there, the lines to buy food, the people who died trying to escape over the Berlin wall, the poverty, and the people afraid to speak to us as they didn’t want the Stasi to take them away.
Instead of all of our current youth being indoctrinated by the school systems now (I am a former teacher by the way) I think every single Olympic athlete should be sent to North Korea, the Middle East, etc. for a week to experience and observe how damn lucky they are to be American.

Athletes accepted to Olympic teams should have to pledge (with penalty if they violate the pledge) that they will verbally support and represent the USA in order to be accepted to the Olympic Team PERIOD.
They can have their personal views and speak out against anything they want to back at home in the USA, but their contract in representing America at the Olympics should be that while they are representing America they need to be positive ambassadors.
Anyone who has guts in our government should effectuate this change immediately.
