OMG! A reporter with an actual conscience?
When I think of the homeless, I think of poor hygiene. Put them on a piece of land away from the National Mall and give them Scotty trailers. Build them a shower/bathroom. Let them have their own community with a laundromat. Give them transportation to go shopping. Anything to make their lives worth meaning. Washington DC rakes in tons of money every year from tourists. They can afford to get rid of the tents.
Why would we do that??? 85% of the homeless are addicts, they brought their misfortune on themselves. I don’t have anyone giving me free housing and land. I work and pay taxes, I don’t do drugs. We the American people owe these druggies NOTHING.
My solution is to find a deserted island and ship them off to it with a few tools to build their own shelter, some fishing poles and seeds to feed themselves, that’s it. They can either change and survive or kill each other.
Either way, I don’t have to see them, step over their filthy encampments or be concerned about being attacked by them.
It’s easier than that. Once upon a time it was a crime to be a vagrant. Bring that law back and establish homeless detention centers, similar to Alligator Alcatraz, but also a rehab facility. If you are homeless, you are shipped to this detention area where you have a bunk, a locker, latrine facilities, laundry facilities, and even a “chow hall”. The facilities would be run by retired military who would establish work duties and schedules, discipline, etc. There will be work established and available at local businesses and farms. Anyone who is receiving an income from ANY source would have that money controlled by the facility “bank” which would appropriate rent, food, utilities, etc. while you’re staying there. There are only three ways to leave this facility – Jail, death, and getting yourself straight! if they get out and revert back to “homelessness”, then they

The public are not stupid. We see for ourselves what is really happening. The Democrats are setting their own selves up for a great fall. I cannot wait for them to go down. They are a waste of human life. A waste of our time. They do break any law they can – on purpose. They forget they are only lowly employees of the American citizenry. We are their employers, and we own them!

The report didn’t say that there is NO crime. There is crime in every town. The report says that crime is down. Try to understand the difference.
