Conservatives didn’t tell liberals that we hate them, Democrats told liberals that we hate them.
Ture story here…a couple of weeks ago TPUSA has an event here in Missouri. About 200 random people showed up. At the end they said if anyone wants to say anything to come forward. about 12 people spoke including a couple of pastors who read scripture. At the end a Trans person came up and said. Not sure why I’m here, but I don’t like violence. They then said “I’m very liberal so I know I probably disagree with everyone here on most things, but….” and they got cut off by a woman in crowd yelling “We don’t care, we still love you!!!” and the entire crowd begin to clapping and cheering this person on. Afterward they stuck around and many people said hello exchanged some words.
The moment for me was when I standing there, a black man, with this trans person and with one of the white pastors who was probably in his mid to late 50s. I remember thinking…THIS IS WHAT CHARLIE WANTED!!!! Not that we all agree on everything, but that we can love and respect each other WHILE we disagree.
This exemplifies what Charlie tried to do before he was brutally murdered…have an open and respectful conversation even if people had a different viewpoint.
It says everything about how ‘intolerant’ the Democrats are that they gave this young man a hard time for joining two groups in order to learn more about other viewpoints when Poli Sci is his major. The fact that Turning Point embraced him says EVERYTHING.
Charlie’s spirit lives on through his organization and the college chapters. I am so glad I came across this story.
