47,000 dead, and America hasn’t gone to WAR with wherever these drugs are coming from? America went to WAR twice after just approximately 3,000 were killed. Pearl Harbor and 911 caused two wars! You can make the argument, however, that those deaths are SUICIDES by people that do drugs. Without America’s world leading appetite for drugs, there would be no rabid effort to SUPPLY them. As Ripley would say, “BELIEVE IT OR NOT,”
Similar to the Prohibition era…supply and demand dictate what happens. If there was no demand for illegal drugs then there wouldn’t be any. America’s appetite for a ‘quick fix’ for their personal problems has made drug use (legal and illegal) skyrocket in the last 50 years. Let Nature take it’s course — survival of the fittest.
