Oh, yeh. I figured that one out, when I saw Dollar Tree and Rite Aid employees lament that they are forbidden to stop thieves from stealing. THen just heard from a Meijer’s employee that one of the guys just got fired for stopping a thief. Huh? Well, I told him, that sounds like communism. Yep. All the regular business stores, go bankrupt from the unchecked thievery, and that leaves a communist government to reokace those private enterprise businesses with communist government run stores, where you live in a shidhole, like NK, Cuba, China, Venezuela, etc., encountering empty shelves and looking for your free handout of porridge from the government.
Not prosecuting for shoplifting promotes more shoplifting. Pretty soon, the stores will close because they’re losing money. City-run grocery stores will still have to pay the prevailing minimum wage. Mamdani wants a $30 minimum wage in NY City. How many stores and fast food restaurants will be forced to close because they can’t afford it? Grocery prices will rise, then they’ll blame Trump for it.

As always, that socialist/communist mayoral candidate doesn’t get the point, nor do any of those, who follow the same political philosophy. PROFIT is what drives businesses to do well, in every country where there is free market enterprise–nothing else. For many years, those of us who do not live in Democratic Party-run, urban area, sh!t-holes, have benefitted from a vast amount of variety, quantity and quality, in our grocery stores. And why? Because there was a PROFIT to be made, for providing that same variety, quantity and quality. But, in communist countries (and now, because of liberal policies that discourage making a PROFIT, in many of our own urban areas, TOO!)–there is no motivation to provide that same variety, quantity and quality in grocery stores–because there is no PROFIT to be made, for doing so. It is a very simple formula: PROFIT=good grocery stores; no PROFIT=sh!t grocery stores. And, no matter how much any communist propaganda-run media says otherwise–that is the simple fact of life–with ANY business, including ANY grocery store, ANYWHERE. THIS is why communism is a POS idea, a POS philosophy–that never works. And THIS is why so many millions fought against communist takeover, fearsome and bloodily–sometimes successfully (like in Finland, and South Korea, and Taiwan, etc), sometimes unsuccessfully (like in Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Tsarist Russia, mainland China, North Korea, and Vietnam, etc.) Everywhere where communism took over, PROFIT disappeared, and with it–PROSPERITY disappeared, too.
