“People of the Lie” is a great book. It’s by the same guy that wrote “Road Less Traveled”, another great book. “People of the Lie” explains the psycho-underbelly of people who are more than comfortable with lying and when they do, they immediately begin supporting their lie as ‘truth’ in their psyche until they believe it themselves. An experienced liar doesn’t need much time to convince themselves of their new “truth”.
Basically, they have mental illness.

Yeah, that book, “People of the Lie”, is probably a good book. My favorite book is “Stalin’s War”, where he had a hard time differentiating between the propaganda lies, that his regime told everybody else, and the truth. He was too caught up in his own ideological thought processes, to see anything else, as being true. And worse, all of his advisors and cronies (the ones that he hadn’t yet killed for criticizing his policies, or questioning his ideas, that is!), were too blinded by their own ideology, and too afraid of him, to tell him the truth, even if they could see it. Caught up in believing their own lies, as truth, just like in the book you like, “People of the Lie”, they were not only deceiving others, but deceiving themselves, as well. And today, we see a similar situation with Russian dictator Putin. He removed all press, critical of his regime. And removed all advisors, personally critical of him, to keep his unquestioned hold on power in Russia. But, it blinded him to what would happen if he attacked Ukraine. He, or his intel agencies, thought Ukraine wouldn’t fight very much, and would be a pushover. They thought the West wouldn’t support Ukraine, if attacked by Russia. And they thought their own military was very strong (and not horribly weakened by corruption, logistical handicaps, ridiculously inferior communucations, and high level-only command & control). And they were totally wrong, on all 3 accounts: Ukraine did fight, hard & well, the West did support Ukraine, a lot–and the Russian military was stunningly incompetent, from corruption, and other reasons. Putin and his advisers thought the war would be over in 3 days. Well, it is now 3 1/2 years later, and they are still fighting, and most of Ukraine is still independent, and not occupied by Russian troops yet. Putin believed his own lies, and his advisers, and the Russian press, were too afraid to tell him the truth. What a mess resulted from that! And now the Dems are trying to lie to us, but we can see right through their many lies. And I hope that a lot of this waste, fraud, and Dem corruption is ended. Throw back the illegals, who are draining our govt & hospital resources & housing. Investigate and end the voter fraud, the ebt fraud, the illegal trespassing, and end the Dem gravy train–and balance the budget–in every govt, federal, state, and local. End this dei madness, and end green energy insanity, and close the border to illegal, unvetted trespassers. Legal immigration is ok–if it is not fraudulent H1B violation. End all the illegal, questionable, fraudulent, and immoral actions. And throw all of the criminals in jail, or deport them to foreign prisons. The more we do this, the better it is for our housing market, and for our economy, and for our govt budgets, and medical resources, too. Everything gets better when we enforce the law, and demand law and order, particularly against violent criminals and terrorists and cartels.
