The most secure way to prevent such accidents is by using reliable redundant (backup) systems. However, RELIABLE redundant systems are expensive. These likely could have been incorporated into the ship but, as I said, it’s very expensive. The companies can’t do it alone. The Federal government needs to help them. However, it’s not the “sexy” thing to do today. The politicians in power would rather spend OUR money on more flamboyant vote getting schemes. It’s sad to see the U.S.A. collapsing. It’s very sad.
