Last week I went to a frozen yogurt place with my daughter. I walk in and stand at the counter to order her a treat and the employee who’s behind the corner completely ignores me for like 2 minutes lol. Finally I ask I can order and she responds “oh it’s all self serve”. After realizing this I grab a cup, dispense my own ice cream, add my own toppings, and come back to the counter to pay. I almost round house kicked the iPad when that thing asked me to tip. Absolutely fking not!

I went through a Starbucks drive through a couple years ago and handed the girl at the window a 5 dollar bill for a $2.48 cup of coffee. She said thank you and closed the window. I sat there waiting for my change. A minute or 2 later she opens the window and asks me if I need anything else. I said I am waiting for my change. She handed it to me with disdain. I haven’t been back there since

  1. Perhaps when a customer does their own check-out, they should receive a discount for performing a task normally done by an employee at the business. All things considered, this would be completely fair.

  2. I will only use a self service checkout if I only have one or two items & there are only a few checkouts with cashiers and have a long line. Otherwise, I refuse to do their job & they get paid for it.
