Worked in LA as teamster,70’s.One little black driver said he was tired of moving white people, so the office said they would only give him jobs with black customers as possible. After about 2 months he said just put me on random selection.

I have been privileged to work with a different “class” of blacks. Educated, cultured and seriously pleasant associates and neighbors. I guess I am just spoiled. I have met too many of those who are on the other side of the coin and can fully support the point of this article. So can my neighbors and associates!! Some coworkers would not stay after nightfall for fear of what would threaten them on the way home…. Civilization is a thin veneer, indeed…
Many times waited on individuals with families. Even the black servers would say, “I’m glad you got them”. 9 out of 10 times they were right. These were also the ones that would run you back and forth”. And at the end of the meal, they’d stiff you, or leave a small tip. I wanted to ask if they were visiting from Canada or France. No, it was their turn to play plantation owner, and now I look at it as they were getting their reparations. I’m sure they thought it was funny. My mom alway’s said: “There’s no class like low class” and it doesn’t matter about color”. I saw a server chase a group out of the restaurant one night. The server was black. When their car came by, he threw the change they left him and hit the car on the driver’s side window!
