An inmate who attacked ex-police officer Derek Chauvin, stabbing him 22 times after a court hearing, has now been charged with attempted murder, according to state prosecutors. John Turscak was charged with attempted murder a week after the Nov. 24 attack at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson, Arizona.

The attack was carried out by a FBI informant who had 3 years of his sentence left. The FBI was the first to arrive and had information about the incident before it was reported to the family.
