CNN’s Wolf Blitzer had a one-on-one interview with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday afternoon. Blitzer’s questions were legitimate as he asked why she was holding up the additional stimulus of the American people, but all of a sudden, Pelosi had a complete meltdown on live television.
Blitzer had pressed Pelosi about why she won’t take the $1.8 trillion deal and she lost her cool like never before. She even accused the cable network of being “apologists” for Republicans.
“I don’t know why you’re always an apologist and many of your colleagues are apologists for the Republican position,” she said.
Watch the exchange between Blitzer and Pelosi before she threw a hissy fit.
As Blitzer pressed Pelosi on why she won’t take the Mnuchin deal, she tells him, “With all due respect you really don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Look let me say this, the president has sent Mr. Mnuchin to negotiate. They do not share our values, have a little respect that we know something about these subjects,” Pelosi shouted back after Blitzer told her to make a deal.
The heated exchange between the two didn’t end there.
As Wolf began his ending remarks, he said, “These are incredibly difficult times right now and we’ll leave it on that note.”
But Pelosi wouldn’t let him have the last word. “We’ll leave it on the note that you are not right on this, Wolf.”
“It’s not about me, it’s about millions of Americans,” Blitzer responded.
Pelosi had nothing else to say but: “And we represent them.”
Blitzer told Pelosi, referring to the $1.8 trillion deal that President Trump offered her: “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.”
“It is nowhere near perfect. We’re not even close to the good,” said Pelosi. “Thank you for your sensitivity to our constituents’ needs.”
“I am sensitive to them because I see them on the street begging for food, begging for money,” Wolf replied.
Pelosi’s last words before the interview ended were: “Have you fed them? We feed them. We feed them.”
