At a hearing in Pennsylvania, Trump campaign lawyer Rudy Giuliani actually went ahead and told them that their election is a sham and that he “knows crooks very well.”
“It’s a disgrace to your state, and I don’t think I need to remind you of this, I think I need to remind America of this — the governor of your state does not run the election for the president of the United States, your election commissioner does not run it,” Giuliani began.
“The United States Constitution makes it clear who has the responsibility for running this election,” he continued.
He then cited article two, section one, clause two of the United States Constitution, which says:
“Each state shall appoint in such manner as the legislature thereof may direct many electors .”
As he continued to lay into them, he said, “It’s the state legislature that controls this process — it’s your power, it’s your responsibility.”
“I know crooks really well,” he claimed. “You give them an inch; they’ll take a mile. If you give them a mile, they’ll take your whole.”
