One of the two Democrats in Georgia’s US Senate run-off elections, Rev. Raphael Warnock, is in hot water as a newly released video shows his ex-wife accusing him of running over her foot in a domestic fight in March.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution then reported the incident, but the police body-camera footage of the couple’s interviews was aired on Fox News by Tucker Carlson on Tuesday night.
Ouleye Ndoye can be heard in the video telling a police officer that Warnock ran over her foot when they argued. Ndoye said her ex-husband tried to drive off with their two children in the car’s back seat.
Ndoye added, “This man’s running for the United States Senate, and all he cares about right now is his reputation,” claiming that she’s trying to be very quiet about his husband for the sake of their children and Warnock’s reputation.
“I’ve tried to keep the way that he acts under wraps for a long time, and today he crossed the line,” she continued and said her husband is phenomenal at being a great actor and putting on an excellent show.
The footage likewise showed Warnock telling the police officer that he thought the car was far enough from Ndoye for him to drive away. He also claimed he didn’t believe his ex-wife when she screamed.
Warnock said, “I barely moved. And all of a sudden, she’s screaming that I ran over her foot. I don’t believe it.”
According to The Journal-Constitution, Warnock wasn’t charged about the incident and that he and Ndoye had filed for divorce weeks before.
The outlet also reported that based on an officer’s report about the domestic dispute, medical officials didn’t see any injury signs on Ndoye’s foot.
Warnock remains in a very tight race with Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler. Georgia’s two run-off elections on January 5 would determine which party would control the Senate.
Warnock campaign spokesperson Michael J. Brewer stated on Wednesday, “This is desperate and shameful. Kelly Loeffler has spent her entire campaign attacking Reverend Warnock and has now stooped to a new low of attacking his family. While she continues to wage her pathetic and dishonest campaign, Reverend Warnock will keep fighting for the people of Georgia who Kelly Loeffler left behind.”
Ndoye, on the other hand, has yet to respond for any comment.
