Last week, the Oklahoma House Republicans’ efforts finally bore fruit: Senate Bill 624 was passed.
The bill sought to rename a section of State Highway 287 after the former President, “President Donald J. Trump Highway.” The highway to be renamed stretches from Boise City all the way to the Oklahoma-Texas border in Cimarron County.
Additionally, the Department of Transportation would need to place permanent markers bearing the new name along the highway.
During the 2020 election, Trump had won all Oklahoma counties and beat Biden by more than 500,000 votes.
Former President Trump may have taken a break from politics after his “loss,” but the people’s support for him has not gone away in the slightest.
And, it’s not just Oklahoma.
In January, Florida State Representative Anthony Sabatini had also sponsored an amendment to rename U.S. Highway 27 as the “President Donald J. Trump Highway”.
Many are still hoping for President Trump to run in 2024. Let’s hope he still has a country to save by then.
