The current Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, is under hot waters after being caught breaking the law, since Wednesday. If that is not bad enough, the United States President had a statement on the on-going issue.

News channels aired the footage of Nancy Pelosi seen visiting a salon. Apart from the fact that there were only limited facilities available with salons opening after the coronavirus pandemic, other issues have surfaced.

Apparently, Nancy Pelosi was walking around the salon with her mask around her neck. Several called out her action, primarily since the current Speaker advocated wearing masks while at public places.

What do the laws of California state?

The law does not allow a person to be inside a salon for any of their services. However, it allows people to be provided with the type of care they need on the salon outdoors.

The law also states that the person taking up the services in a salon is supposed to be wearing a mask at all times. The person providing care at the salon is also required to wear a mask. No relaxations are allowed, according to the law.

What does Nancy Pelosi had to say?

Nancy Pelosi said that the salon owner set her up. She was quoted saying that, “I take responsibility for trusting the word of a neighborhood salon I’ve been to over the years many times, and when they said we’re able to accommodate people, one person at a time, and that we can set up that time, I trusted that. As it turns out, it was a set-up.”

She further added, “It was a set-up, and I take responsibility for falling for a set-up.”

Pelosi refused to apologize for the issue stating, “I think that this salon owes me an apology for setting me up.”

What does the salon owner have to say?

The owner of the salon, however, refuted Pelosi’s claim. When contacted by the media, she said, “I was like, are you kidding me right now? Do I let this happen? What do I do?” Kious told Fox News, adding that she “can’t control” what her stylists do.

“We have been shut down for so long, not just me, but most of the small businesses and I just can’t – it’s a feeling – a feeling of being deflated, helpless, and honestly beaten down,” the salon owner said. “I have been fighting for six months for a business that took me 12 years to build to reopen. I am a single mom with two small children, and I have no income. The fact that they did this, and she came in, it’s like a slap in the face,” the salon owner Erica Kious said.

With regards to the apology

Nancy Pelosi refused to apologize and stated that it might be the salon who owes her an apology for setting her up.

There have been rumors that the Speaker might end up apologizing to the owner. However, it did not seem to happen since Wednesday.

The spokesperson of Nancy Pelosi, Drew Hammill, further added and responded with a statement that, “This business offered for the Speaker to come in on Monday and told her they were allowed by the city to have one customer at a time in the business. The Speaker complied with the rules as presented to her by this establishment.”

President Donald Trump Tweets

To make matters worse for Nancy Pelosi, Trump tweeted, Crazy Nancy Pelosi is being decimated for having a beauty parlor opened, when all others are closed, and for not wearing a mask – despite constantly lecturing everyone else. We will almost certainly take back the House and send Nancy packing!

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi said she was “set-up” by the beauty parlor owner when she improperly had the salon opened (and didn’t wear a MASK!). Does anyone want a Speaker of the House who can be so easily SET-UP?”
