According to numerous reports, Mitch McConnell apparently spent his Christmas Day trying to get everyone to hate President Trump more than they already do.
Conservative media claim that McConnell caught the tail ends of a plot by some senators — namely newly-elected Senator Tommy Tuberville — to challenge the vote to make it official for president-elect Joe Biden to take office in the White House. Apparently, McConnell was working overtime to make sure that Biden could get in.
Journalist David Chapman wrote a tweet reporting about how the Senate GOP Leadership reached out to Tommy Tuberville to “to tell him that objecting to the electors will be a ‘politically damaging move.’”
A well-known activist for Trump named “Ali” took to Twitter on Christmas Day as soon as he got wind of the news. He issued an “emergency broadcast” calling out McConnell for his attempt to try to take down President Trump.
“If a Democrat Presidential Candidate had an Election Rigged & Stolen, with proof of such acts at a level never seen before, the Democrat Senators would consider it an act of war, and fight to the death,” Trump wrote on Twitter the day after Christmas. “Mitch & the Republicans do NOTHING, just want to let it pass. NO FIGHT!”
