“Our darkest days in the battle against COVID are ahead of us,” said President-elect and former Vice President Joe Biden. “So we need to prepare ourselves — to steel our spines, as frustrating as it is to hear. It will take patience, persistence, and determination to beat this virus.”
Biden said his grim warning during his year-end remarks supposed to be a message for the holidays.
According to Biden, even with the first round of vaccine distribution already underway, the virus remains a threat. He added that the current death rate, which sits at 3,000 Americans to the day, is not expected to declare any time soon.
He proceeded to remind people that they need to take the virus seriously and continue to wear their masks, remain socially distracted, and avoid indoor gatherings.
“We need to prepare ourselves, to steel our spines,” the President-elect continued. “As frustrating as it is to hear, it’s going to take patience, persistence, and determination to beat this virus. There will be no time to waste in taking the steps we need to turn this crisis around.”
The number of people who have tested positive for the coronavirus continues to spike, which prompted Biden to say his little speech. Sadly for America, Biden is right. We need to prepare ourselves for the coming days, but it’s not COVID we need to prepare for. It’s what might happen in January.
