The past 4 years has proved to me we need term limits and anyone who’s been in Congress or the Senate longer than 8 years needs to leave now willingly before we drag them out by the blood of their children and grandchildren.

Jenna Ellis is truly a patriot ✊🇺🇲

Term limits starting now. Anyone over four years OUT. We need a brand new slate in both houses. Drain the swamp and banish lobbyists out of Washington. Create a new set of standards for Congress and the Senate that covers new disciplines such as cyber crime, digital crime, fraud, dereliction of duty to constituency. Residence in districts. Truth in advertising and on and on. Our government has become a playground for shoddy, lazy attention to the rules of governing and dangerous ideologues. No one bent on destroying the America First agenda should be allowed to hold office. No one running for office should be allowed to trash our flag, our religion or our country.

Really politics is a tough enough job when following the constitution of the Republic way as its suppose to be Governed. What deviations going on in the Biden Administrations proves 50 yrs in politics is far to long and has a tendency to produce welfare politicians that are no longer working for “We the People” Time for a “Convention of States” bring the proper power back to the individual States with term limits.

The prescribed term for senators is six years. You need a Constitutional amendment to reduce it to four. Tern limits of no more than two for senators and six for representatives has been proposed and is reasonable. I have also proposed a Constitutional amendment that would limit political contributions to natural persons who are US citizens. That would eliminate undue influence by corporations and unions.

Sounds like a good plan, but how do you do it after putting the enemy in charge of everything?

Term limits weren’t considered by the founders because if you lived past 70 you were a physical and sometimes a mental wreck ( think Joe Biden ). Now however some people can serve well into their 80’s.

The problem is not length of time per se, but the correlation between the amount of time in office and the accreting corruption inherent in possessing power.

Cincinnatus and George Washington are two examples of men who gave up power to return to their farms. I think farming was what Washington really loved most. Indeed, Washington gave up power twice.

But how often do they come along? You can’t base a system on such rarities. Our system is predicated upon the understanding that humans are corrupt when given power. Very few develop such wisdom as to be able to restrain themselves from abusing it. Very few have such experience as to outweigh the risk of corruption.

We have already limited the office of the president to two terms. Why not the other branches as well?
