America better start building a lot of NEW refineries.

Democrats will fight like crazy to keep Americans from benefiting from this achievement.

  1. This is exactly why DEMOCRATS are in court trying to bankrupt oil companies with a FALSE law suite. Standby folks if the suite goes in the wrong direction you will be paying a whole lot more for gas and diesel than you are today.

  2. If America is truly energy independent, why are we still paying high prices for fuel? We should be utilizing our energy reserves to help us, not the rest of the World. Let’s take care of America first… let the rest of the World sort out their own problems.

    • Crude oil is priced globally. Exxon/Mobil can get $92 per barrel. It would be irresponsible to sell for less. Windfall profits may be coming, for stockholders. Becoming a stockholder is more profitable, than whining.

    • The U.S. is producing more oil than it uses but the prices have nothing to do with our supply. It has to do with worldwide oil prices and the barrel of crude is well over $100 now. We are a capitalist country so why should the oil companies sell the oil for say $50 a barrel when the world market is at $100? I know they “could” make it cheaper just for America but I guess it would be like if you bought your house for $100,000 20 years ago and now it’s valued at $600,000, would you sell it for say $300,000 to be “nice”? Probably not, that’s the mentality of the oil companies who are setting their prices according to the world market. It would be nice if they would sell it in America for a reasonable profit over their actual cost of producing gasoline and diesel, but that’s not the world we live in. I remember decades ago when diesel was a lot cheaper than regular gasoline, but not anymore. It’s odd because diesel is a lesser refined oil product than gasoline so it costs less to produce diesel than even unleaded regular so why is diesel so much higher? I’m not an economist or understand fully the market so I just deal with it and fill up when prices are lower (and fill my 5 gallon gas cans when it’s really cheap).
