There's now a problem with garbage trucks catching fire from discarded batteries in computers, phones, power tools, UPS units, etcetera when the compactor crunches them. They call them "Hot Loads"!

10 trucks have been destroyed in one part of Florida. There must be hundreds nationally.

There’s an additional concern: firefighters can drag an electric bike to an area where it can burn itself out over a few days. Much harder to do that with a 6,000 lb. EV.

  1. EV fires are so hard to stop, more than likely if your EV catches fire, fire department is going to let it burn itself out as fire trucks cannot carry enough retardant to put out fires. When your EV insurance costs more than your car, you will be scrambling ti find and ICE vehicle to purchase.

  2. California can’t even power all the homes when it gets hot they do rolling black outs so how will they handle everyone having electric cars
